Rhode Island Black Film Festival
As the program cordinator for the Rhode Island Black Film Festival, I am entrusted with the dynamic task of bringing together diverse voices and compelling stories that celebrate Black culture through the powerful medium of film. Collaborating with filmmakers, sponsors, and community partners, I strive to create an inclusive and enriching experience that fosters dialogue, amplifies underrepresented narratives, and inspires audiences. Guided by a passion for storytelling and a commitment to cultural appreciation, I am dedicated to making the Rhode Island Black Film Festival a vibrant platform for creativity, expression, and connection.
Beyond The Lens Academy
As a board member, I have the privilege of facilitating immersive experiences for local Rhode Island high school students in collaboration with Johnson & Wales University. Students dive deep into the captivating realms of filmmakers, videographers, and the intricacies of the Rhode Island Office of Film & Television. Collaborating closely with IATSE local union, we offer invaluable insights into diverse careers and areas of study within the realm of film. In addition, we are able to bring the students to an Apple store where they can learn how to make a movie on their phone. With the Beyond The Lens Academy comes the opportunity to empower the next generation of creatives to explore their passions and carve out exciting paths in the dynamic world of cinema.
